Different Perspective
When I first started this blog I was trying to understand why I was acting how I was. Not just in the short term but in my ability to do the job I'm required to do.
Much of what this job entails requires a work pattern that is just not me. Maybe yet at least.
It is very surreal for me to be aware of the things I want to improve in that regard and be completely unable to flip a switch and keep that switch on.
So really this blog just started as a way to be more aware of who I was and how my perspective was shaped every day by what was going on around me. Either by my work, or my colleagues or the general ups and downs of running a small business and just taking on what felt like way too much.
It was in a conversation the other day that Guy basically said: "I know you always need this inspiration, I just do one thing and keep going until I'm done".
And then something else that Olse said the day after that: "I don't want to do it for a reason. I just want to do it to do it."
Those are the perspectives I am realizing I've really relied on my entire life. Whether they know or it not at the time.
Friends that seem to know how to motivate me in the right way.
It takes me back to a conversation that I had with my Grandpa a long time ago.
The man who's family ran a chain of grocery stores in Corpus Christi for close to 40 years.
"Zach, sometimes you just have to try."
These are the conversations that flip the switch for me.
