Forward Momentum (Day 113 of 365)

Forward Momentum (Day 113 of 365)

I’m in St Louis to see family for the rest of the week.

I am hoping to find time to go see Eagles Crossing this week and then play Harmony Bends(Columbia) and Bad Rock Creek(KC) on our way back.

Today we stopped at Hendrickson Park. They have an 18 hole park style course. It felt a lot like the back 9 at Zilker but with taller trees and steeper elevation changes.

We only had time for the front 9, but I really enjoyed what I got to play. It’s one of those shorter hidden gem courses that if it was in Austin or San Antonio it would be PACKED because anyone can have a good time there.

I threw the Glow Mustang on all but one tee. Hole 2 is a short par 4. You have to throw down a very narrow strip of land along a creek. I had a 40ft look at Eagle and chained out. All the other holes play along the hillsides in unique and fun ways.

There’s even an island hole with railroad tie borders. The shape of it was well thought out. The grass is left tall here so you can’t see the green(Hole 18 anyone???) but the basket sticks out. The green is shaped to go with the down slope to the left. The pin is high right behind the grass. So you have to place it with good pace and intention to have an easy putt.

Whoever made this course plays GOLF too I think.

I made a few good putts on the edge of C1 but also missed just as many. -10 is definitely there on the front 9. I could also easily see myself shooting over par at times.

I plan to stop and play it more often now.

My drive is starting to feel much more powerful. The rest days I took during MDO were important for my body and mind. My legs and hips are now timing up better too. Especially on my putt.

Things are starting to feel more natural out on the course. I can see/predict what happens before it happens again.

Until tomorrow.
