I’ve been in Glen Rose Texas since Friday.

After missing Easter with the family it’s been nice to get a long weekend with my family.

Dino Hills is nearby, and I’m gonna try to swing by tomorrow if time allows. This weekend has been more about family though and I’ve intentionally told everyone I didn’t want disc golf to be a priority.

It is for every other day of my life. Not this weekend. This is about my family and my Mom.

This is an awesome area for a weekend getaway. Lots of parks and water areas for those that are outdoor inclined, but also plenty of shopping and unique places to check out if you want to stay indoors.

Todays highlights include:

• A guided tour at Fossil Rim animal sanctuary. Very touristy and a better experience than a zoo. The Giraffes alone are worth it.
• Lunch at Oma Leen’s in Hico. If it was in Austin, I’d send people to eat there when they came to visit. Cool atmosphere and everything was fantastic. I’m not a bread pudding person, but theirs is fantastic and I’d order every time.
• Drink Tasting at Sledge Distillery. Their focus is moonshine. I’m now a fan of banana pudding moonshine. 

Back to family time.
