I’m still thinking about Worlds.
It’s the first event that I not only enjoyed watching, but made me want to tune in again for the next few weeks.
I also really enjoyed the rounds being in the morning. Maybe the best thing that can happen to the US disc golf scene is for DGPT to spend more time in Europe each year.
There’s a lot to unpack with why the European scene is more attractive.
Generally though, they just have more resources and investment from local municipalities.
We should be running into that as fast as we can.
Disc Golf is a fraction of a blip on the radar here in Texas.
I think we are still 20+ years away from getting enough people in places to make disc golf a higher priority.
I dedicated 3ish years of my life to Sprinkle and a few big events. That’s a very small stepping stone in the process.
Someone will replace my impact. The groups before Mint laid the foundation. Planted the seeds. We built our room. Watered the trees.
I don’t want to be the most important one. Never a gatekeeper.
I want to be the next shoulder you can lean on when it’s your turn.
