This is officially one of those days.
Where I need the blog to be short and sweet.
Tomorrow I will announce the release details for Glow Freetails.
Tomorrow I will announce a new Putting League Championship for all of Austin.
Tomorrow I will talk about the event we cancelled before we announced it: Camp Sprinkle.
But I'm not ready to talk about any of that today...I'm still working on it.
So I'm going to talk more about The Open at Austin.
Sprinkle Valley will be hosting 2-days of the 4-day DGPT+ Event. If you have been out on the course the past week you probably noticed some new piles of branches and brush starting to form.
We have already done some major work cleaning up the rough on Holes 2-9. Mike Olse started preparing the new long tee pad on 13 and last week we cut the new pin for Hole 14.
Below are of the other changes & improvement you can expect before the event:
- All new DGPT standard Turf Pads, provided by the Disc Golf Pro Tour.
- New Long Tee Boxes for at least Holes 5 & 13.
- Fortified Greens on Holes 5-8 to reduce erosion.
- Trails - Better signage, flow & stump removal
- General Course Beautification & Dead Tree Removal
- Tighter OB on the right side of 16
- New Walls on Hole 17 island (instead of the railroad ties).
- Cleaner Rough in common landing areas.
If you'd like to come help us get ready for this event, we could use your help on the next work day this Saturday 1/25 from 9am to 11am. We will be primarily focused on picking up fallen limbs and debris so that they can be mulched down.
Tomorrows blog will be a lot :)
Until then!
