Forward Momentum (Day 259 of 365)

Starting with the Pickle you will see something new on Mint Discs - brand tooling.

The Pickle is using parts that display this tooling on the bottom of the flight plate.

Included in the tooling is:

“pdga approved” and “prodigy discs.com”

In time we do plan to update all of the Prodigy models to be more Mint specific, however similar to the Serial # debate(see last blog), we want to take our time with it.

As we develop new models with Prodigy, we don’t want to make changes NOW that impact design decisions on those future additions.

We want to know exactly what the best update to the tooling will be.

It is obviously ideal to at least have it say Mintdiscs.com.

However what if we want to add something else like the disc name or flight numbers?

Fitting all of that in different places isn’t as easy as you’d think. Does it go on the flight plate, rim or wing? What is the best cost value? Does it risk harming the mold?

We are still figuring a lot of that out, because at the end of the day it is still just Guy and myself trying to make all of this happen. Our resources are pretty limited and some mistakes set us back months.

There’s also the fact that the MVP line of discs has no tooling on them. How do we account for that compared to Prodigy?

For now, expect to see us using the bottom embossed Serial number more often. That includes our logo, serial # and disc name.

To summarize, we do plan to change the tooling on these discs.

We just need to get it right.
