"The thumber man was a fundraiser stamp for the first annual Gonzo Liberty Battle in 2008. The event is named for the first battle of the Texas Revolution, which occurred on the very grounds of the course, and I wanted to depict disc battles. The event stamp depicted a crowd battle with attackers chasing, where this stamp focused on a single basket-wielding defender sneaking up on a thumber bomber.
For this special edition we substituted the disc for a slice of pizza."
