Disc Golf Payout Calculator
How to use the disc golf payout calculator
This free disc golf payout calculator is built for tournament directors and league organizers. Enter your player count, entry fee, and any added cash — the full prize pool is always distributed to the paid spots using the official PDGA pay tables.
What do the PDGA percentages mean?
The percentage in each preset — 40%, 45%, or 50% — controls how many players get paid, not what fraction of the pool goes out. The entire entry fee pool always goes to players. With PDGA Pro 40% and 20 players, the top 8 players split the full pool. With 50 players, the top 20 split it.
For PDGA-sanctioned events in the US and Canada, TDs must pay a minimum of 40% of each Pro division and 45% of each Amateur division.
Which PDGA pay table does this use?
This calculator uses the official PDGA pay tables — specifically the Pro-Mid curve for Pro divisions and the Am-Mid curve for Amateur divisions. These are the same curves built into PDGA Tournament Manager, so your payouts will match what the PDGA expects. The tables cover fields paying up to 33 spots. For larger fields, a proportional curve is applied.
How is the number of paid spots calculated?
The raw number (players × field percentage) is rounded to the nearest whole number. For example, 45% of 6 players = 2.7, which rounds to 3 spots. Switch to "Fixed # of spots" if you want to lock a specific number regardless of field size — common for weekly leagues.
Rounding and leftover cash
Rounding to the nearest $5 simplifies cash handling at the payout table. Any leftover from rounding is automatically added to 1st place and noted below the results. Select $1 rounding to eliminate this entirely.
