Happy Birthday Dad!
Here’s a fun fact…
My Dad was who introduced me to disc golf.
I remember using DX discs. The classic stamps were very memorable even back then.
It was maybe around 1995-2000 at Zilker.
We played once.
I didn’t play again until after high school.
Some of these discs below were his. Some I gave him over time. My mom asked me if I wanted his bag and discs.
Theres 3 Wizards in there. A couple nice DX Rocs. An Orange CE-ish Stingray with an X-out stamp. That’s definitely stuff I would have given him.
He saw my first ace too. Hole 17 at Zilker. Around the big ole tree with a Star Teebird.
He was there to catch the football for me while I threw it for hours.
Rebounded the ball when I missed.
Sat in the bleachers.
Drove me to the games.
Taught me how to be on time(early).
We once spent a summer building stairs out of railroad ties.
Yup, he taught me that too.
Life has a weird way of circling back.
I knew today’s blog was going to be about my Dad.
I didn’t know I’d come home with his disc golf bag though.
Thanks Dad for always being there for me. Flat tires. Basketball games. All of it.
Best Dad in the world!
Happy Birthday Larry!! We love you!
Thanks for all the snacks and support at the SV work days and of course: HAPPY BIRTHDAY, “Zach’s dad!”
So he built the infamous stairs…
Happy birthday Zach’s dad!
