Today is a brain dump day.
We have a lot going on at Mint. Most of my time this week has been spent on product development, sales and event planning.
Unfortunately, I made the call to cancel an event today. This was a really exciting new idea we wanted to pull off in 2025 at Sprinkle. It will happen, just not yet.
I will talk some more about this event later this month. There's some other irons in the fire with it I need to wrap up before we can reveal all the stuff we had planned. It will also be good to get the communities feedback on it so we can execute it well.
Cancelling this idea was one of the few times in the history of Mint that I have talked myself out of an idea like this. Usually everyone around me does it for me before I get this far into a project.
So why did we cancel it? My goals for myself and Mint have changed for 2025 compared to previous years. I'm taking the time enjoy what we are doing and the foundation we have built so far. I want to go a year without disrupting that. We don't have to go BIG every year with everything. My event schedule otherwise is the exact same as last year. That has never happened. That's nice to be honest. We don't have to build a course, just keep up with it. We are internally making a lot of operational improvements we needed 2 years ago.
All of that get's me really excited because I know that means we'll be better off as a company when the next big project is on deck.
I need to enjoy what we have built and not stress it. That makes me happy. I am really enjoying working in disc golf again.
The Wildflower Disc Golf Tour will be at Sprinkle this weekend!
If you know any women looking to play they can sign up here: https://www.discgolfscene.com/tournaments/The_3rd_Annual_Prickly_Pear_Classic_2025
They are also looking for more volunteers if you have any time on Saturday and/or Sunday. If you haven't played or staffed a Wildflower event I highly suggest you do soon.
The Wildflower events are some of the best events in the world and they create a really special environment for everyone to have a great time.
They are also hosting a flex start doubles event tomorrow(Friday 1/17) at Sprinkle. This is open to anyone and everyone. They have pretty much every divisions available including mixed co-ed.

Now for the fun news...
We will have a Stamp Party & Swap Meet in February.
It will not be with Bullets. Something else instead! This will be your first chance to get this disc.
Exact date and times are TBD, but we'll announce it late next week. Maybe.
We used to host the Swap Meets on the first Wednesday of every month. The turnout was hit or miss but it was always a really cool way to find some gems and hang out with everyone. The way it works is you bring your collection, set up a table, and sell/trade.
It's also open to anyone that wants to come through and buy/trade only.
I think combining this with our popular Stamp Parties will be a good fit.
I'm going to be at Live Oak Putting League tonight.
I don't go that often anymore. I want to start going every week again. That places means a lot to me and it's been hard to balance getting back there with my commitments to Mint, Sprinkle DGC and my family. I only have so many free nights! Maybe I'll see you there tonight. It's from 6-7pm with the Birthday boy, Efrain Aguilar. Make sure to buy him a beer to celebrate!
Until tomorrow y'all.
I’ve seen many burn out in my short time in this game. Doing the most for your community is awesome but you have to remember you’re part of that community so enjoy it sometimes! You guys have done fantastic work and we’re hoping to bring a piece of that to Tennessee.
