Home from the Sizzler.
This was honestly our smoothest one yet.
The feedback for the Idol seems pretty good overall too.
For every person that’s come to ask me about flashing or plastics, there’s also been someone else telling me how much they have secretly loved Prodigy.
Sometimes it’s hard to remember that almost every conversation starts with a point of curiosity.
A lot of people just regurgitate what they read online or hear from friends.
So that’s all they know to ask us.
For the first 5ish years of Mint we did not talk about MVP.
MVP and Mint mutually did not want people to buy Mint solely because of MVP.
We are after all our own company. Making our own choices.
We didn’t go to MVP because they were making the best product. They had NEVER made single shot models when we signed the ink. Streamline did not exist yet.
I had a relationship with Brad and Chad. I knew their background and their goals.
They were hungry and we believed in the totality of the product and people over time.
The common topic in person for these early years was “who makes the discs?”.
We sold that mystery until it just made sense to not have that barrier exist anymore.
That’s business. It’s our marketing and how it’s evolved.
The approach with Prodigy has been the exact opposite.
It’s the latest conversation starter now.
I get really excited to talk about the Prodigy relationship in person.
They are hungry. Primed to grow in new areas.
I feel more comfortable embracing and talking about MVP now too as a result.
We aren’t hiding these details anymore.
This is Mint in 2025.
It’s gonna be alright.
Came by the shop last week on Thursday after just flying in from Nashville hoping (and knowing it was a longshot) to get my hands on an Idol. Alas, I’ll have to wait.
Wondering what made you use a lowercase L for the name. Just an observation. Can’t wait to throw one of the lightweights.
