Played a new course today, Chapel Hill DGC in Georgetown.

This is a really fun 9-hole track built and maintained by Nathan Tucker and the Hyzernes club.

It was cool to play with Nathan and learn about the thought process for each hole and their eventual plans to keep improving it. Jacob Varner joined us too!

While it is a pretty wide open course, holes 4-6 might be one of my new favorite stretches for Par 3s in Central Texas. They did a great job with making the course playable for all skills.

We ended up playing the 9-hole loop twice but only scored the first 9.

For the first 9 I really focused on my backhand and dialing in the putt. By the time we got to the second 9, the thumbers and rollers came out and worked on dialing those in.

This was also my first round ever with Nathan.  Enjoyed every second of it and definitely encourage you all to go check out what they are up to at Chapel Hill.

On to Live Oak Brewing tomorrow afternoon.

  • Great getting to play with y’all and seeing the Man, the Myth, the Legend in action! Thank you for the kind words about our course.
